WhatsApp down: The interruption caused a spike in reports on Downdetector, a website that tracks internet outages, as many users reported having trouble using WhatsApp.
About 11:45 PM on Wednesday, the messaging software WhatsApp went down globally, preventing numerous users from using the service. An error notice stating that the service was now unavailable was displayed to users when they attempted to log in to the app or use WhatsApp Web, the browser-based version of the platform.

The trending hashtag #WhatsAppDown was created on social networking site X in response to WhatsApp’s recent crash. Many users were unable to use the messaging program, even after trying to restart it.
Reports state that the WhatsApp outage began at around 11:45 PM, the same time as an Instagram outage.
Many Instagram, Facebook, and Threads users experienced unexpected account logouts earlier in March due to a widespread interruption. Many customers complained about forcing themselves to log out of their accounts, having trouble getting back in, and having trouble with the two-factor authentication tokens that were needed to try logins. Both the desktop and mobile applications for the platforms were affected by the disruption.
“We are now having service issues with Cloud API due to an outage. On April 3, 2024, around 11:10 AM PST (11:40 PM IST), the problem began. Our technical teams are looking into the problem. If more information becomes available, we’ll give you another update in four hours or sooner,” Meta stated.
