AAP leader Payal Sakariya criticized BJP over women safety in Gujarat, calling government claims hollow and raising serious concerns about rising crimes.
Political debate over Women Safety in Gujarat intensified after Aam Aadmi Party Gujarat women’s wing chief Payal Sakariya launched a sharp attack on the state government, calling its claims of ensuring women’s safety “completely hollow.”
Addressing a press conference in Ahmedabad, she alleged that despite repeated promises of a “safe Gujarat,” women in the state continue to feel insecure in their daily lives.
Allegations Against Government Claims
Payal Sakariya said that during election campaigns, ruling party leaders frequently highlight women safety initiatives and large budget allocations. However, she claimed that ground reality tells a different story.
She questioned the effectiveness of schemes and funding, stating that despite thousands of crores being allocated for women’s welfare, the safety situation remains unchanged.

She referred to NCRB data and alleged that hundreds of such cases are reported every year, reflecting gaps in law enforcement and safety mechanisms.
Questions on Law and Order
Payal Sakariya also questioned whether women in Gujarat can freely move at night without fear. She criticized the effectiveness of police systems and helplines, stating that safety measures exist more on paper than in reality.
She further alleged that while police protection is often provided to political leaders, ordinary women continue to face insecurity.
Political Tension Escalates
The AAP leader warned that if strict action is not taken to improve women safety, her party’s women’s wing will intensify protests and demand accountability from government officials.
