Yogi Adityanath targets Congress and the INDIA bloc ahead of the Ghaziabad democracy march, accusing the Opposition of promoting political instability.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has launched a fresh attack on the Congress and the INDIA bloc ahead of the proposed foot march in Ghaziabad to defend democratic values. He accused the Opposition alliance of creating an atmosphere of instability and disorder in the country despite repeatedly facing rejection from voters.
In a statement issued on November 5, Yogi Adityanath announced that he would participate in the Ghaziabad march to convey the message of protecting democracy, respecting constitutional principles and upholding the people’s mandate. His remarks have intensified the political debate between the BJP and Opposition parties over democracy and alleged irregularities in electoral rolls.
Yogi Adityanath to Join Ghaziabad Democracy March
The Chief Minister said democracy is one of India’s greatest strengths and is built on public confidence, constitutional values and respect for the people’s decisions.
Targeting the Congress and the INDIA alliance, Yogi alleged that these parties were attempting to create instability and disrupt the country’s democratic environment.
He said that despite facing repeated electoral setbacks, the Opposition continued to make efforts that could weaken democratic institutions.
Explaining his decision to participate in the Ghaziabad foot march, the Chief Minister said the event would highlight the importance of democratic traditions, constitutional propriety and public participation.
The Yogi Adityanath Ghaziabad march is expected to become another political flashpoint between the BJP and Opposition parties amid the ongoing debate over electoral processes.

BJP Workers Committed to Protecting Democratic Values: CM
Yogi Adityanath also highlighted the role of BJP workers in strengthening democratic institutions. He said party workers were committed to protecting constitutional values and ensuring that democratic principles remained strong under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to the Chief Minister, the real power of democracy comes from people’s trust and their active participation in the electoral process.
However, his statement did not disclose specific details regarding the route, timing or organisers of the proposed Ghaziabad foot march.
Congress Questions BJP’s Democracy Save Yatra
Meanwhile, the Opposition Congress has strongly criticised the BJP’s political campaign. Uttar Pradesh Congress president Aradhana Mishra Mona accused the ruling party of trying to divert public attention from allegations of voter deletion and irregularities in electoral rolls.
Reacting to the BJP’s Democracy Save Yatra, Mishra questioned why the ruling party was defending the Election Commission instead of addressing concerns raised about its functioning.
She also referred to the Congress-led ‘Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao’ rally held on November 1 under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. According to her, the BJP intensified its campaign after the Opposition raised concerns over the electoral process.
Congress Raises Questions Over SIR and Voter Deletions
The controversy has also brought the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls into the political spotlight.
Aradhana Mishra alleged that the voter revision exercise had resulted in large-scale deletions of names in states such as West Bengal and Assam.
Referring to Uttar Pradesh, she cited reports concerning Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s remarks about approximately 1.27 crore names being deleted from the state’s voter lists. She also referred to Election Commission figures that placed the post-SIR voter count at around 13.47 crore.
Mishra questioned the reasons behind the deletion of voters’ names, particularly those belonging to young people and women who had shifted to Uttar Pradesh after marriage.
She demanded clarification from Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and questioned whether the changes in electoral rolls could have any impact on the number of Assembly constituencies.
Political Face-Off Between BJP and Congress Intensifies
The upcoming Yogi Adityanath Ghaziabad march has added another dimension to the political confrontation between the BJP and Congress in Uttar Pradesh.
While the BJP is presenting its march as an initiative to defend democracy and constitutional values, Congress leaders are questioning the government’s position on electoral transparency and voter-list revisions.
With both sides raising contrasting arguments, the issue of democracy, electoral institutions and voter rights has become a major political talking point in the state.
The developments are likely to keep the BJP and INDIA bloc engaged in a sharp political exchange as the debate over electoral reforms and democratic accountability continues.
