Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath pays tribute to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji on his 350th martyrdom anniversary, highlighting his courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid heartfelt tribute to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Maharaj on the occasion of his 350th martyrdom anniversary, asserting that truth can never be diminished, no matter how powerful the forces of injustice may appear.
At a special Gurumati Samagam held at DAV College, Aishbagh, the Chief Minister bowed before Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, listened to the divine Shabad Kirtan, and remembered the supreme sacrifices of Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji. He offered homage on behalf of millions across the nation.
CM Yogi Adityanath: Truth and Faith Stand Eternal
Addressing the gathering, Yogi Adityanath said that throughout history, oppressive powers attempted to forcibly alter religious and cultural identities. During such dark times, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s courage and commitment to dharma shone as a beacon of hope for humanity.
He stated: “Empires rose and fell, generations came and went, yet unwavering faith has remained the guiding force.”
The Chief Minister added that India’s enduring spiritual strength has led the nation to defining moments, including the construction and consecration of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya.
The Gurudwara Management Committee honored him with a Siropa, Kirpan, and a portrait of Guru Sahib.
Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s Legacy: Courage That Defended Faith
CM Yogi recollected how Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Maharaj stood firm against tyranny when attempts were made to forcefully convert people. In that era of fear and persecution, Guru Ji chose to defend religious freedom with compassion and courage.
He also highlighted the role of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who, at the young age of nine, encouraged his father to stand up for righteousness and religious liberty. Yogi Adityanath reflected on the extraordinary sacrifices of the four Sahibzadas, calling them unparalleled examples of bravery and devotion in world history.
Ayodhya’s Spiritual Connection With Sikh Gurus
The Chief Minister emphasized Ayodhya’s profound link with Sikh heritage. He recalled that Guru Nanak Dev Ji visited Shri Ram Janmabhoomi between 1510 and 1515, and later condemned the injustices that followed the site’s destruction in 1528.
He said that throughout centuries, Sikh Gurus, saints, Nihang warriors, kings, and ordinary citizens answered every call to protect the sacred land of Shri Ram.
“Today, the same unwavering faith is visible as we witness the reconstruction of the Shri Ram Temple after 500 years,” he said.
Nation’s Tribute: Veer Bal Diwas and Sikh Heritage
CM Yogi highlighted that the sacrifices of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s four Sahibzadas received formal recognition in 2020 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared December 26 as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’.
This observance, he said, inspires future generations to uphold the values of courage, faith, and patriotism.
He also mentioned that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji visited Yahiyaganj Gurudwara in Lucknow, adding to the city’s spiritual heritage. The state government, he assured, is committed to honoring and preserving these sacred historical legacies.

Cabinet Minister Sardar Baldev Singh Aulakh praised the Chief Minister, saying: “Yogi Adityanath is respected across the world. His commitment to honoring Sikh history and celebrating Sikh festivals is exceptional and unmatched.”
