Zomato Discontinues 15-Minute Delivery Service Quick After Limited Success
New Delhi | May 1, 2025 — Zomato has quietly removed its quick food delivery service, Quick, from its app just four months after its launch. The service, introduced as part of Zomato Everyday, was initially promoted as a 15-minute delivery option offering ready-to-eat meals from select restaurants within a two-kilometer radius. Cities like Bengaluru, Gurugram, Hyderabad, and Mumbai no longer have access to this feature, signaling a shift in the company’s approach to ultra-fast delivery.
Despite its early promotion, the Quick service failed to gain significant traction. Zomato had quietly removed it without making an official announcement. The company did not respond to queries from Money Control regarding the service’s discontinuation. The company’s CFO, Akshant Goyal, had previously stated that such quick-delivery initiatives, including 10-minute deliveries, were still in their infancy and unlikely to significantly impact the company’s overall performance.
Quick was seen as Zomato’s attempt to capture the growing market for fast delivery services. It reportedly accounted for 8% of app’s order volume around March 2025. However, the company’s previous experience with quick delivery services, such as Zomato Instant, which launched in 2022 but shut down by January 2023, shows the difficulties of scaling ultra-fast deliveries in the highly competitive food delivery market.
The company is now shifting its focus to Bistro by Blinkit, which leverages Blinkit’s dark stores to deliver small meals and snacks quickly. This marks Zomato’s pivot away from quick deliveries in its core app, focusing instead on simpler snack items like samosas and puffs. This move comes in response to rising competition from services like Zepto Café, Blinkit’s Bistro, and Swiggy’s Snacc app.
Zomato’s CEO, Deepinder Goyal, acknowledged the challenges of securing restaurant partners for quick delivery models. Despite the shutdown of Quick, the company continues to focus on its core delivery services, hoping to streamline operations and meet the growing demand for faster deliveries in the snack and small meal category.
