In a remarkable example of rehabilitation and reintegration, 32 former Maoists from Bijapur district have taken a decisive step towards self-reliance and development. Moving away from violence and joining the mainstream of society, these individuals have successfully completed a one-month intensive training in poultry and goat rearing at the Regional Self-Employment Training Institute (RSETI) in Jagdalpur.
During the training programme, the participants were introduced to scientific and modern methods of animal husbandry. They received hands-on training in selecting high-yield breeds, feed management and balanced nutrition, vaccination, disease identification and treatment, as well as marketing strategies for their produce. They also learned about various government schemes, credit facilities, and how to start and sustain profitable small-scale ventures.
