Punjab Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar today instructed transport department officials to ensure the availability of government bus services on all routes across the state.
While presiding over a review meeting on the functioning of Punjab Roadways/PUNBUS, PRTC, and the State Transport Commissioner’s office, Minister Laljit Singh directed officials to accelerate the procurement of new buses. He emphasized the need for the department to meet its targets efficiently and implement measures to boost government revenue.
He also mandated the acquisition of BS-6 stage buses, as per regulations allowing only BS-6 buses to operate at Delhi Airport to curb pollution. Additionally, he urged the swift completion of the tendering process for new bus purchases.
Minister Laljit Singh underscored the importance of maintaining cleanliness and proper upkeep of bus stands across Punjab, ensuring that public transport services are more efficient and delivered in a timely manner.
