NITI NCAER : NITI Aayog, in collaboration with the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), has developed a comprehensive portal that serves as a centralized repository of data on social, economic, and fiscal indicators. Covering a span of approximately 30 years (1990-91 to 2022-23), the portal also includes research reports, papers, and expert analyses on state finances. Hon’ble Finance Minister Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman will officially launch the “NITI NCAER States Economic Forum” portal on April 1, 2025, in New Delhi.
The portal comprises four key sections:
-
State Reports – Offering an overview of the macroeconomic and fiscal landscape of 28 Indian states, categorized by demographics, economic structure, and socio-economic and fiscal indicators.
-
Data Repository – Providing direct access to a structured database across five key verticals: Demography, Economic Structure, Fiscal, Health, and Education.
-
State Fiscal and Economic Dashboard – Featuring graphical visualizations of key economic trends over time, along with quick access to raw data via summary tables and appendices.
-
Research and Commentary – Drawing from extensive studies on state finances, fiscal policies, and financial management at both the state and national levels.
Designed to enhance understanding of macroeconomic, fiscal, demographic, and socio-economic trends, the portal offers an intuitive and user-friendly interface. It provides consolidated sectoral data in one place, enabling policymakers, researchers, and analysts to compare state-level data with national benchmarks.
Additionally, the portal will function as a research hub, equipping users with analytical tools and historical datasets to track progress, identify trends, and formulate evidence-based policies for sustainable development.
