Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the state on April 14 to present major development projects as a significant gift to the people of Haryana. During his visit, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for an 800 MW thermal power plant in Yamunanagar, inaugurate Hisar airport, and also lay the foundation stone for its new terminal. These initiatives aim to align “Viksit Haryana” with the broader vision of “Viksit Bharat.” The Chief Minister shared these details while interacting with media after inspecting the event preparations on Sunday.
CM Nayab Singh Saini highlighted that electricity is crucial for the present age, powering everything from railways to electric vehicles. The Yamunanagar thermal unit, to be developed by BHEL at a cost of ₹7,272 crore, is expected to be completed by the end of 2028.
Responding to questions from reporters, CM Nayab Singh Saini stated that he had conducted review meetings with officials to ensure seamless arrangements for both Yamunanagar and Hisar events. He expressed satisfaction with the ongoing preparations and said that people across Haryana are excited to give Prime Minister Modi a warm and grand welcome. These developmental initiatives will not only uplift Haryana but also contribute to national growth. He also noted that following the BJP’s significant victories in the Lok Sabha, Assembly, and recent local body elections, development work in the state will now move at triple the pace, and PM Modi’s visit will further accelerate this momentum.
CM Nayab Singh Saini personally inspected key arrangements such as the event venue’s main tent, VIP and media galleries, parking, drinking water, and toilet facilities. He instructed officials to ensure smooth parking and proper amenities for attendees, including water provisions at both the venue and parking areas.
Present at the review were BJP State President Mohan Lal Kaushik, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shyam Singh Rana, Yamunanagar MLA Ghanshyam Das Arora, former Cabinet Minister Kanwar Pal, Mayor Suman Bahamani, and senior officials including Dr. Amit Agrawal (Development and Panchayat Department), K. Makarand Pandurang (Information and Public Relations), and others.
