Health and Environmental Risks
The Chief Minister pointed out that the indiscriminate use of non-biodegradable materials is not just an environmental threat but a severe health hazard. He cautioned that the chemicals from plastic waste are contributing to life-threatening diseases, including cancer. By strictly adhering to the Single Use Plastic Ban, the state aims to mitigate these risks and provide a cleaner, safer environment for future generations.
Single Use Plastic Ban Inspired by PM Modi’s Vision
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently prioritized the elimination of single-use plastic at the national level. Aligning with this vision, the Haryana government is committed to implementing the Single Use Plastic Ban through both strict enforcement and large-scale public participation.
The Road Ahead: Collective Responsibility
Concluding his address, the CM reiterated that meaningful change is only possible when every citizen adopts eco-friendly alternatives like cloth or jute bags. The state government plans to intensify awareness drives and strengthen the Single Use Plastic Ban framework to ensure that plastic-free living becomes a cultural norm in the state.
