CM Pushkar Singh : Special attention should be given to increase the attendance of students in the higher education department. Vocational, entrepreneurship and job-oriented education should be promoted. Special attention should also be given to skill development of the youth to connect them with employment after obtaining a degree from higher education. According to the need of human resources in foreign countries, youth should be given training in foreign language as well as skill development. To provide skilled human resources from the state for employment in foreign countries, arrangements should be made for training according to the requirements of different countries by contacting foreign embassies.
These instructions were given by to the officials during the review of the Higher Education Department at the Secretariat on Thursday. The Chief Minister said that teachers should also be given training based on modern technology for quality and job-oriented education in higher education. Special attention should be paid to the availability of teaching aids to make teaching activities interesting. Adequate availability of books in the libraries of universities and colleges as well as proper arrangement of necessary equipment in the laboratories should be ensured. Under the Bharat Darshan scheme of the state government, meritorious students studying in universities and colleges should be made to visit prominent institutions of the country. Efforts should be made to bring maximum universities and colleges of the state into the NAAC grading system.
According to the National Education Policy 2020, work should be done expeditiously in the direction of upgrading higher education in the state. CM Pushkar Singh said that the curriculum should be linked with innovation to improve the future of children in higher education. For this, cooperation should also be sought from reputed institutions doing better work in the field of education. The library system should be strengthened so that children have easy and free access to books for competitive exams and academic courses. Vocational courses should also be started in colleges.
