Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath said that AIIMS Gorakhpur has now emerged as a strong centre of healthcare in eastern Uttar Pradesh.Its foundation laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016 has now become a huge institution, giving new life to thousands of patients.It was inaugurated by PM Modi in 2021.
CM Yogi Adityanath laid the foundation stone of a 500-bed Vishram Sadan at AIIMS Gorakhpur, which will be built at a cost of Rs 45 crore in collaboration with Power Grid Corporation.Family members of critical patients are unable to stay in hospitals and are often forced to spend nights on the streets, he said.In such a situation, this rest house will be a relief for them.He has also directed to build such facilities at SGPGI, KGMU, BHU and AIIMS.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that former Union Minister RK Singh sanctioned a night shelter from the CSR fund for AIIMS Gorakhpur, so that the people accompanying the patients could get a safe stay.He said that on an average, there are 1200 families in AIIMS Gorakhpur who do not get proper accommodation, and these people are forced to bear the brunt of the weather.
CM Yogi Adityanath also emphasized on the arrangement of food and hygiene at affordable rates.At BRD Medical College, a meal was arranged at Rs 8, which has now been continued at Rs 10.Such services will also be promoted in AIIMS Gorakhpur.
CM Yogi Adityanath informed that the establishment of AIIMS in Gorakhpur was envisioned in 2003, which has now been realised. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 22 new AIIMS are being built across the country. Gorakhpur AIIMS is now developing into a major health hub, on which many districts of Nepal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh depend.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that doctors should be sensitive and listen to the patients carefully.Under the ‘One District, One Medical College’ scheme in the state, medical facilities are being increased in every district.AIIMS will also have to be enabled to treat critical care patients.
CM Yogi Adityanath appreciated the tele-consultation model, which started during the time of Covid and is now helping to connect medical colleges with SGPGI. It is also providing expert advice to patients in remote areas.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that in the future, the OPD of AIIMS Gorakhpur can reach 10,000, so it is necessary to expand the screening system and super specialty facilities.Gorakhpur AIIMS will be developed as a hub of healthcare, which will connect nearby medical colleges with tele-consultation.
In conclusion, he expressed confidence that India will be a developed nation by 2047 under the leadership of the Prime Minister.
