CM Mohan Yadav said that Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the esteemed President of the Indian Constituent Assembly, was a towering and multifaceted personality. He was a staunch advocate of social unity and harmony. Dr. Yadav emphasized that Dr. Ambedkar was not just a leader of the Dalit community but a guiding light for all sections of society. He also acknowledged the significant support extended by King Jiwaji Rao Scindia of Gwalior and Maharaja Gaekwad of Baroda in advancing Dr. Ambedkar’s work and vision. Recalling a personal aspect of his legacy, Dr. Yadav noted that Dr. Ambedkar received his surname from his teacher—a name he honored throughout his life and elevated through his achievements.
CM Mohan Yadav was addressing the District Seminar of the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Samman Abhiyan at Ravindra Natya Griha, Indore, on Tuesday. The program witnessed the presence of several prominent dignitaries, including former Rajasthan Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje, Urban Administration and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Rajya Sabha MP Sushri Kavita Patidar, and former Rajya Sabha member Shri Narayan Singh Kesari.Also present were Indore Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava; MLAs Shri Mahendra Hardia, Shri Ramesh Mendola, and Smt. Malini Gaud; former Mayor Shri Krishnamurari Moghe; Chairman of the Safai Kamgar Commission Shri Pratap Karosia; Chairman of the Scheduled Caste Finance Development Corporation Shri Sawan Sonkar; along with Shri Sumit Mishra, Shri Raghavendra Gautam, and Dr. Nishant Khare.
CM Mohan Yadav said that both the Central and State governments are actively working to bring the legacy and contributions of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar to the masses. He highlighted that the government has developed key locations associated with Dr. Ambedkar’s life—including his birthplace, educational institutions, and other significant sites—as places of pilgrimage, honoring his enduring impact on the nation.
Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Smt. Vasundhara Raje, said that Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar was not only a visionary leader of the Dalit community but a towering figure respected by all sections of society across the world. She remarked that Dr. Ambedkar aspired for every citizen of the country to be educated and to progress in life. Embodying the values of humanity, he treated everyone with equal respect and fairness. Smt. Raje emphasized that the Constitution authored by Dr. Ambedkar is not merely a legal document, but a comprehensive guide to living a dignified life—one that continues to be respected globally. She added that through his education and contributions, Dr. Ambedkar conveyed a powerful message to the world: no task is too difficult or impossible. His legacy continues to inspire society, instilling confidence and energy, and empowering individuals to live with equality and pursue their aspirations. Smt. Raje also lauded Indore’s exemplary commitment to cleanliness, stating that the people of the city have embraced cleanliness as a core value. This, she noted, is the reason Indore has retained its position as the cleanest city in India for seven consecutive years.
Urban Administration and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, drawing a parallel between Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and global icons such as South African leader Dr. Nelson Mandela and former U.S. President Martin Luther King Jr., stated that Dr. Ambedkar awakened nearly 80 crore Indians to the power of education. He emphasized that Dr. Ambedkar’s influence extended far beyond legal reform—he sparked a social revolution through knowledge and awareness.
Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silavat said that Dr. Ambedkar is not only a national icon but a global symbol of justice and equality. He described Baba Saheb as a visionary who fearlessly challenged injustice and stood as a voice for the oppressed. Shri Silavat added that both the Central and State governments are committed to advancing on the path shown by Dr. Ambedkar, ensuring dignity and respect for every section of society—including women, youth, farmers, and the underprivileged.
At the outset, everyone paid tribute to the innocent people who died in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam by observing two minutes of silence.
In the program, the guests honored former MP Shri Narayan Singh Kesari and other social workers.
