CM Bhajan Lal Sharma said that one of the top priorities of the State Government is to ensure uninterrupted power supply to every household and farm. He informed that the Government is rapidly working towards the target of providing day time power to farmers and uninterrupted power to industrial areas by 2027. In order to achieve this objective, the power generation, transmission and distribution system is being strengthened with foresight.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma was chairing a review meeting of the Energy Department at the Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday. He directed the officials to ensure that power supply is not disrupted even at the time of maximum demand during the summer season and the general public does not face any inconvenience.
CM Bhajan Lal informed that despite the Rabi season and increased demand for power since February, the government has ensured uninterrupted supply to farmers and consumers. He directed to run all the production units at full capacity and develop alternative energy sources keeping in view the future demand.
Referring to the additional allocation of 5,000 MW given by the Centre under the PM Kusum Yojana, CM Bhajan Lal asked for expediting the work of setting up decentralised solar power plants. He also stressed on implementing battery storage system.
CM Bhajan Lal Sharma called for concrete measures to improve the processes of repair, maintenance and utilization of transformers so that consumers continue to get uninterrupted power supply.
Senior officers of the Finance Department, Rajasthan State Power Generation Corporation, Transmission and Distribution Corporations were present in the meeting.
