Chhattisgarh NEWS : May 8 was a special day in Murta, a small village in Bemetara district of Chhattisgarh. Despite the scorching heat, there was commotion in the panchayat building. People had come with expectations, and the administration with solutions. Standing among these faces was Shri Jitendra Manikpuri, who had a simple wish in his eyes for years – a domicile certificate.
This may be a common document for some, but for Shri Jitendra, it was the first step towards recognition. I tried many times, but the paper was incomplete, I went around the office and every time I felt disappointed. But this time, the Samadhan camp was held at Murta under the Sushasan Tihar run under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, and he reached there quietly. Although the hope was low, there was definitely faith in a corner of the mind.
As soon as he applied at the revenue department stall, the official smiled and said, “There is no delay here, you be prepared. The mobile was immediately checked, the documents verified and within a few minutes they had the paper they had waited for years. The most special moment was when the district panchayat president called his name and handed over the residence certificate to him. At that moment Jeetendra’s eyes became moist, but his face was filled with a smile.
He never thought that the residence certificate would be obtained so easily. “The government has now literally reached our village,” Jitendra said with a sigh of relief and satisfaction on his face. This is not just a story of a certificate, but a picture of a changing Chhattisgarh, where governance is now felt not just in the buildings of the capital, but also in the streets of the villages.
