CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, while chairing a review meeting of the Commission for the Prevention of Migration at the Secretariat on Friday, said that a suitable platform will be provided to share the experiences of the people who have migrated to the state. The aim is that others should also get inspired by these successes and move towards self-employment. The Chief Minister also said that the suggestions of such people will be incorporated in various schemes so that the schemes become more effective.
The Chief Minister said that the active participation of women in the state will make Uttarakhand one of the best states in the country in the times to come. This participation will be a tribute to the passion, courage and skill of Nari Shakti. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami directed Secretary Rural Development Smt Radhika Jha to work towards developing platforms to share success stories of reverse migrants and involve them in planning. Emphasising on skill development for sustainable livelihood of the villagers, he called for motivating the local people towards self-employment by identifying employment opportunities in their area.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also said that the women of the self-help groups should be imparted professional competence, so that the branding and marketing of their products can be better and they get a fair price. Giving details of the work done by the commission in the meeting, Dr. S.S. Negi said that so far about 2,000 people have adopted self-employment by joining agriculture, animal husbandry, tourism, homestay, horticulture and other sectors while doing reverse migration in the state and are earning good profits. Other important suggestions were also made by the members in the meeting.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami also gave instructions for simplification of schemes and said that active participation of departments like planning, education, tourism, skill development should be ensured to make the commission effective.
