CM Pushkar Singh Dhami approves ₹1,252 crore for Kumbh 2027 & reviews development in Pauri & Srinagar. Adi Kailash Yatra begins with full state support.
In a major push toward infrastructure and spiritual tourism, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a high-level review meeting at the State Secretariat on Saturday. The meeting was convened to evaluate the progress of developmental announcements specifically targeting the Yamkeshwar, Pauri, Srinagar, Chaubattakhal, Lansdowne, and Kotdwar assembly constituencies.
Massive Financial Boost for Kumbh Mela 2027
A day prior to the review meeting, Pushkar Singh Dhami approved a staggering budget of ₹1,252 crore aimed at the preparations for Kumbh Mela 2027. This investment is set to revolutionize the state’s disaster management systems, flood protection measures, and drinking water infrastructure.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the funds will also breathe new life into the Ganga Corridor projects. Pushkar Singh Dhami has sanctioned ₹115 crore for the redevelopment of Triveni Ghat in Rishikesh and over ₹69 crore for the North Har Ki Pauri development in Haridwar. These initiatives are part of a broader vision to enhance the aesthetic and functional appeal of the holy river banks.

Adi Kailash Yatra Commences Under State Supervision
As the sacred Adi Kailash Yatra kicked off this Friday, Pushkar Singh Dhami assured devotees that the state is fully prepared for a seamless pilgrimage. Located at an elevation of 5,945 meters in Pithoragarh, Adi Kailash has seen a massive surge in popularity following high-profile visits.
“The pilgrimage to Adi Kailash and Parvati Kund is an auspicious start to the season,” stated Pushkar Singh Dhami. He noted that since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Gunji and Jageshwar Dham in 2023, tourist footfall has broken previous records. Last year alone, Jageshwar Dham hosted over 600,000 devotees, and the CM expects this number to rise significantly this year.
Strengthening the Hill Economy
The strategic focus of Pushkar Singh Dhami on the Pauri and Pithoragarh regions is seen as a move to reverse migration by creating local employment through tourism and infrastructure development. By fast-tracking assembly-wise announcements, the Chief Minister aims to ensure that the benefits of state schemes reach the last mile in the Himalayan terrain.
