“I’m Good,” Says Sonu Nigam After Nearly Being Hit by a Car
Sonu Nigam had a close call in Mumbai recently when he was almost hit by a speeding car while stepping out to meet friends. A video of the incident, which occurred late Monday night, has since surfaced online, sparking concern among fans and social media users.

The incident happened outside a popular restaurant where Sonu was seen arriving to catch up with friends. Dressed in a black shirt, matching track pants, and red sneakers, the singer appeared in good spirits, smiling for the cameras. However, just moments after stepping out of his car alongside his bodyguard, another vehicle suddenly accelerated toward him.
In the video, Sonu Nigam can be seen narrowly dodging the car, which reportedly grazed him. His bodyguard quickly intervened to ensure his safety. The visibly shocked singer momentarily glared at the driver before regaining his composure and greeting his friends with a hug. When bystanders asked if he was alright, Sonu reassured them with a calm, “I’m good.”
The clip of the near-miss has gone viral on social media, with fans expressing relief and outrage. Many praised Sonu Nigam’s calm reaction, while others criticized the reckless driving in one of Mumbai’s busiest areas. No official complaint or police report has been filed in connection with the incident at this time.
Recent Controversy in Bengaluru
This isn’t the first time Sonu Nigam has made headlines recently. The singer was embroiled in a controversy after refusing to perform a Kannada song at a concert in Bengaluru. His refusal, which he linked to the terror attacks in Pahalgam, drew criticism from the Kannada music industry and the public. An FIR was subsequently filed against him.
Sonu later issued a public apology via Instagram, stating, “Sorry, Karnataka. My love for you is bigger than my ego. Love you always.” Despite his apology, Kannada filmmaker K. Ramnarayan removed two songs sung by Sonu from the upcoming film Kuladalli Keelyavudo.
Despite these challenges, Sonu Nigam continues to be one of India’s most celebrated voices. Thankfully, the singer escaped serious injury this time—and fans are hoping for safer and less stressful days ahead for him.
