CM Mohan Yadav said that the life of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar was dedicated to society, culture, and the nation. Her personality and contributions are a priceless treasure of India. A meeting of the Cabinet has been organized in Indore to express gratitude for her good governance, justice, education, social and religious welfare, water conservation, and to draw inspiration from her life. Malwa has a glorious and golden history, which needs to be highlighted. Remembering the historic figures of Malwa such as Malhar Rao Holkar, Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar, and Bajirao, Dr. Yadav paid homage to the land of Malwa.
CM Mohan Yadav was addressing members of the Cabinet at the Durbar Hall of Rajwada Palace in Indore prior to the meeting. He stated that inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s guiding mantra “From Heritage to Development,” the state government is realizing the vision of development while preserving and enriching cultural heritage. The first Cabinetmeeting was earlier held in Jabalpur in memory of tribal warrior queen Rani Durgavati. Today’s meeting is dedicated to Lokmata Ahilyabai. On June 3, another cabinet meeting will be held in Pachmarhi in memory of tribal king Shri Bhabhoot Singh.
CM Mohan Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is a leading state in agriculture. The state government is committed to promoting agriculture and agricultural produce, and ensuring farmer welfare. The concept of linking farms to factories and industries is being realized. An Agriculture-Industry Conclave will be held in Narsinghpur from May 26 to 28 under the chief guestship of Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar. The government is striving to bring latest technologies to farmers, promote food processing industries, and ensure fair prices for produce.
He further informed that a Women Empowerment Grand Conference will be held in Bhopal on May 31 under the chief guestship of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. On the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, the conference is being organized in association with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, at Jamboree Ground, Bhopal, with the participation of women entrepreneurs, workers, SHGs, and Ladli Behna beneficiaries. Over 2 lakh women from across the state are expected to attend. During the conference, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Indore Metro and virtually inaugurate the airports at Satna and Datia.
CM Mohan Yadav shared that from May 20 to 31, 2025, several grand events will be held at various locations in the state to mark the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar. Cultural and literary programs will be held in Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Kalidas Sanskrit Academy in Ujjain, Narmadapuram, and other locations. A grand theatrical performance titled “Ahilya-Kathan Sannadati” will be staged at Kalidas Sanskrit Academy, Ujjain, on May 22. On May 23, a women’s poetry conference focused on Devi Ahilya will be organized at Mahidpur village in Ujjain. The play will also be performed in Gwalior on May 24, Narmadapuram on May 26, Bhopal on May 27, and Betul on May 28.
In Indore on May 28, there will be solo poetry recitations and cultural activities focused on Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar. On May 29, the grand play “Shivyogini Ahilya” will be staged at Lata Mangeshkar Auditorium, Indore. The celebrations will conclude on May 31 at the Rajwada premises, Indore, with floral tributes to her statue and a women empowerment program dedicated to her legacy. These events are a tribute to her contributions and an effort to honor her heritage.
The Cabinet expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Modi for the implementation of the “Rahveer Yojana.” Dr. Yadav mentioned that along with the 108 ambulance and air ambulance services for accident victims, the “Rahveer Yojana” initiated by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, has now been implemented in the state. District Collectors have been instructed for its execution.
The scheme includes a provision where any citizen who takes an accident victim to the hospital within the crucial “golden hour” and saves their life will be rewarded with ₹25,000 (increased from the previous ₹5,000). If a citizen directly brings the injured to a hospital, the hospital will inform the police, who in turn will notify the District Collector. A copy of this report will also be given to the individual, and the reward will be directly transferred to the individual’s bank account by the transport department.
Cabinet members expressed their gratitude to CM Mohan Yadav for the procurement of approximately 78 lakh metric tonnes of wheat from 9 lakh farmers in the state this year—about 30 lakh metric tonnes (62%) more than last year. Nearly ₹20,000 crore was paid to farmers for the wheat purchase. Among the 9 lakh farmers, 1.25 lakh were women farmers.
In a symbolic gesture, CM Mohan Yadav and all ministers wore traditional dhoti attire during the cabinet meeting. Urban Development & Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, and Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava welcomed cabinet members with ceremonial shawls and mementos.
Former Lok Sabha Speaker Smt. Sumitra Mahajan gave a presentation on the proposed Ahilyabai Holkar Memorial, which will be built at Lal Bagh Palace on 3 acres of land with an estimated cost of ₹100 crore. The memorial will highlight her life, ideals, values, and contributions.
