How LAT Aerospace Plans to Bring Sky-High Freedom to India’s Tier 2 and 3 Cities
Deepinder Goyal, co-founder of Zomato, is set to make waves in the aviation sector with his latest venture, LAT Aerospace. The startup aims to revolutionize regional air travel in India by making flying as affordable and convenient as taking a bus, especially for passengers from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

With a total funding of $50 million, Goyal himself has invested $20 million into LAT Aerospace, signaling his strong belief in the company’s vision to tackle one of India’s biggest challenges: expensive and inaccessible air travel to remote regions.
A New Model for Regional Flights
LAT Aerospace, founded by Zomato alumnus Surobhi Das and other co-founders, proposes a fresh approach to regional aviation. The company plans to operate small aircraft using compact “air-stops” instead of conventional airports. This model eliminates long security queues and the hassles of busy terminals, aiming for quick and frequent flights that serve neglected areas better.
India currently has over 450 airstrips across the country, but only about 150 are commercially active. LAT Aerospace intends to unlock the potential of these underutilized airstrips, connecting remote locations with major cities efficiently and affordably.
By simplifying regional flying and lowering costs, LAT Aerospace hopes to open up new economic opportunities for smaller cities and make air travel accessible to a wider population.
With Deepinder Goyal’s backing and an innovative business model, LAT Aerospace could well become a game-changer in India’s aviation landscape, bridging the gap between remote areas and urban centers like never before.
