Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda stated that the state government is dedicated to enhancing the quality of education in government schools and ensuring better facilities for students. As part of this effort, high-performing students will receive free coaching to prepare for competitive exams such as IIT, NDA, and others. A pilot project is being developed by the Education Department, under which selected blocks will offer after-school coaching sessions conducted by experienced government school teachers. If the pilot proves effective, the initiative will be rolled out statewide.
Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda shared these updates while chairing a departmental review meeting at Shiksha Sadan in Panchkula today.
Education Minister Mahipal also announced that, similar to private institutions, regular parent-teacher meetings will soon be introduced in government schools. These interactions will keep parents informed about their children’s academic performance and promote their active participation in improving student learning outcomes.
On the topic of sports, the Minister praised Haryana’s athletes for excelling on global stages such as the Olympics, World Championships, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games. He stressed that nurturing sports talent begins at the school level. To support this, schools must be equipped with proper sports gear and teachers should encourage students to engage in regular training. He added that he would personally monitor progress in this area and warned that strict action would be taken against teachers failing to fulfill these responsibilities.
Highlighting the importance of the Hindi language, Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda noted that as Haryana is a Hindi-speaking state and Hindi is India’s national language, all official work in the Education Department must be conducted in Hindi. He warned that any lapse in this regard would not be tolerated.
The meeting was also attended by Additional Chief Secretary of School Education, Sh. Vineet Garg, Director of Elementary Education, Sh. Vivek Aggarwal, and other senior officials.
