CM Dhami inspected the Doon Hospital, interacted directly with the patients and discussed the status of their health services with the patients.
CM Dhami conducted a surprise inspection of the Government Doon Medical College Hospital on Saturday evening and took a thorough review of the health services, quality of treatment and arrangements available in the hospital. During the inspection, the Chief Minister met various patients undergoing treatment at the hospital and enquired about their health and the medical facilities being provided to them by the hospital. Interacting with the patients and their families, the Chief Minister gave a first-hand understanding of the quality of medical services and also gave necessary instructions. In order to improve the health services in the state, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, during a surprise inspection of the Government Doon Medical College Hospital today, gave clear instructions to provide proper facilities for the waiters in the waiting area (waiting room) on the hospital premises.
Taking stock of the waiting room of the hospital, the Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure adequate and well-organized arrangement of drinking water, fans and seating arrangements so that the attendants accompanying the patients also get a comfortable environment. He said that Teemardars are an important part of the hospital system and they should also get basic facilities so that they can be mentally comfortable. The Chief Minister also directed that arrangements for cleaning, regular sanitisation and colouring of the hospital premises be made with immediate effect. He said that the hospital is not only a place of treatment, but it is also a place of support to the patients and their families mentally and physically, hence its cleanliness, beautification and order is very important. He told the medical officers that the convenience and respect of the patients as well as their families is also the priority of the state government. He emphasized that all possible steps are being taken to ensure better services to the general public in government hospitals.
Chief Minister Dhami also visited the Blood Sample Collection Center, where he received information about the process of collecting samples, their recording and testing in the laboratory from the operator working in the center. He appreciated the efficiency of the technology and resources being used at the Centre and directed for its continuous monitoring. On the occasion, the Chief Minister directed the hospital administration, medical officers and staff that providing timely and quality treatment to the patients should be the topmost priority.
He said that the State Government is committed to further strengthen the health services and all necessary resources are being made available for the same. The Chief Minister also directed that transparency, sensitivity and prompt service delivery system should be ensured in the health services so that the general public can get its direct benefit. During the inspection, the Chief Minister inquired from the staff deployed at the help desk about the functioning of the scheme, the assistance being provided to the beneficiaries, the process of making the card, the status of the claim of the patients and the facilities being provided to the public. He also interacted with the beneficiaries present on the spot and listened to their experiences and enquired about the functioning of the help desk.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure that the benefits of Atal Ayushman Yojana reach every eligible person. He said that every person coming to the help desk should get simple, clear and quick information, so that they do not face any inconvenience in joining the scheme and getting the benefit. Chief Minister Dhami also said that this ambitious scheme of the state government is like Sanjeevani for the poor and needy patients and for its effective implementation system, all the concerned departments will have to be alert and active.
