The Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized the need for a ‘Swadeshi Diwali’, urging citizens to prioritize indigenous goods for their festive purchases. He directed all district administrations and top police officials to stay vigilant, remain on the ground, and ensure peace and safety across the state during the high-footfall season.
Zero-Tolerance on Law and Order Violations
CM Yogi Adityanath launched a special drive to maintain law and order, instructing officials to take strict action against anti-social elements and miscreants who may attempt to disrupt the festive atmosphere. He emphasized that intelligence units must remain active and local police must operate on high alert.
“There will be no tolerance for those disturbing the peace,” he stated, reiterating his government’s zero-tolerance policy towards criminal activities.
Ayodhya’s Deepotsav & Kashi’s Dev Deepawali: High-Priority Events
With events like Ayodhya’s Deepotsav and Kashi’s Dev Deepawali drawing lakhs of devotees and tourists, CM Yogi directed officials to ensure uninterrupted celebrations, tight security, crowd management, and smooth traffic flow.
“These events have now become national symbols of spiritual pride, and their sanctity must be preserved,” he added.

Environmental & Safety Measures During Diwali
To protect the environment and ensure public safety, the CM Yogi Adityanath issued several key directives:

Idol immersion should be done only in ponds, not rivers, to protect water bodies.

Firecracker shops must be located away from residential areas with all safety norms, licenses, and NOCs in place.

Food Safety During Festivities
CM Yogi Adityanath instructed the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) and district authorities to conduct rigorous inspections of milk, khoya, sweets, and other consumables. However, he cautioned officials to ensure no unnecessary harassment of traders, and offenders found selling adulterated goods must face swift action.
Social Media Monitoring & Women’s Safety
To prevent misinformation and communal tensions, the CM stressed constant monitoring of social media platforms for provocative or misleading content. Security measures were directed to be heightened, especially post-Friday prayers, and women’s safety was declared a top priority for the administration.
Swadeshi Fairs and Festive Beautification
In line with the call for vocal for local, CM Yogi Adityanath announced that Swadeshi fairs will be organized in every district from October 10, encouraging small businesses and local artisans. He also directed local bodies to ensure:
