Uttar Pradesh to develop 408 tourist sites with world-class amenities under CM Yogi Adityanath, enhancing heritage, religious, and hidden destinations for better visitor experience and local economy.
Uttar Pradesh is set for a massive tourism transformation as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announces the development of 408 tourist destinations across the state. The initiative aims to upgrade heritage landmarks, religious sites, hidden gems, and high-potential attractions with modern amenities, boosting both tourism and the local economy.
Inclusive Planning with Public Participation
Under the Tourism Development Participation Scheme, district magistrates have submitted proposals for site development based on suggestions from local representatives. This participatory approach ensures that the growth of tourism respects cultural heritage and environmental sustainability. Each tehsil and assembly constituency is slated to receive at least one upgraded tourist site alongside existing popular destinations.

These upgrades aim to enhance the overall visitor experience, ensure safety, and promote sustainable tourism across the state. Most of the 408 sites are already in advanced stages of development and are expected to become fully functional tourist centers soon.
Action Plans and Monitoring
Regional tourism officers have been tasked with submitting detailed action plans and progress reports for each site. Director General of Tourism, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, emphasized that these measures will ensure timely execution and continuous monitoring. This ambitious plan reflects the Uttar Pradesh government’s commitment to positioning tourism as a key driver of economic growth under CM Yogi Adityanath’s leadership.
