The Bollywood industry and fans are gearing up for a heartfelt tribute to legendary actor Dharmendra, who passed away earlier this week. A prayer meet in his honor is scheduled for Thursday evening at Taj Lands End, Bandra, Mumbai, where family, friends, and well-wishers will gather to pay their last respects.
According to PTI, preparations are underway at the luxury hotel to host a dignified and intimate gathering. The event comes three days after Dharmendra’s demise on November 24, 2025, at the age of 89. The veteran actor passed away at his Juhu residence following a week-long illness and was cremated the same day at Pawan Hans Crematorium, Vile Parle.
When and Where the Prayer Meet Will Take Place
The Deol family shared an official invitation poster on social media announcing the prayer meet. The poster features a childhood photograph of Dharmendra along with the words “Celebration of Life”. The details read: “Dharmendra 8 December 1935 – 24 November 2025. Prayer meet on 27 November 2025, 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm. Venue: Seaside Lawns, Taj Lands End, Bandra, Mumbai.”
Reports suggest that renowned singer Sonu Nigam may perform some of Dharmendra’s iconic songs during the ceremony, adding a musical tribute to the veteran star.

Dharmendra’s passing had already drawn the presence of prominent Bollywood figures at his funeral, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, and many others. For the prayer meet, fans can expect appearances by Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and other celebrities who shared a close bond with the legendary actor.
