Bollywood composer Palash Muchhal has removed all social media videos featuring Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana, following the sudden cancellation of their wedding. The deleted videos included the widely shared clip of Palash proposing to Smriti at the DY Patil Stadium, the same venue where the Indian women’s cricket team celebrated their historic World Cup win in Mumbai.
Palash Muchhal and Smriti had planned to marry on November 24 in Sangli, Smriti’s hometown. However, just as the pre-wedding festivities were underway, news emerged that the wedding was postponed indefinitely due to Smriti’s father falling ill. Palash and his family returned to Mumbai shortly after, with the composer reportedly also hospitalized due to stress.
The sudden wedding cancellation sparked rumours that Palash had been involved with a choreographer during the celebrations. Both choreographers present at the wedding denied any involvement, calling the claims baseless.
Both Palash Muchhal and Smriti shared statements addressing the situation. Smriti urged fans to respect the privacy of both families while announcing the postponement on her Instagram Stories. Palash, in a separate post, confirmed the wedding’s cancellation and wrote, “I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationship.”
He further addressed the circulating cheating rumours, stating, “It has been very difficult for me to see people react so easily on baseless rumours about something which has been most sacred to me. It’s the most difficult phase of my life, and I will deal with it gracefully, holding on to my beliefs. I truly hope we, as a society, learn to pause before judging someone based on unverified gossip, whose sources are never identified. Our words can wound in ways we may never understand.”
With the proposal and World Cup celebration videos now deleted from his Instagram, fans are left speculating about the future of the duo. Palash’s thoughtful response to rumours, however, emphasizes the need for privacy and sensitivity during personal crises.
