Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Friday urged farmers to embrace soil-friendly and sustainable farming practices, emphasizing the critical role of healthy soil in ensuring life and environmental balance. Speaking at the Progressive Farmers’ Conference and the ‘Kheti Ki Baat, Khet Par’ program in Daulatpur village, the CM inaugurated the Rabi season’s “Kisan Pathshala” and stressed that the well-being of Mother Earth is directly linked to human survival.
CM Yogi Adityanath highlighted the importance of scientific farming, multi-crop practices, and modern agricultural techniques to enhance crop yield while reducing input costs. He also emphasized government initiatives aimed at increasing farmers’ income and promoting natural farming in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision. “Timely access to quality seeds, fertilizers, irrigation, and technical guidance is essential to boost productivity and reduce costs,” he said.

The program included recognition of progressive farmers, distribution of cheques and scheme approvals, and exhibitions showcasing advanced crop varieties, vegetables, farm machinery, and innovations by Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs). Daulatpur’s advanced farming model was presented as an example for replication across the state.
CM Yogi Adityanath also underscored Uttar Pradesh’s significance in national agriculture, noting that the state possesses 11% of India’s cultivable land and contributes 21% of the country’s foodgrain supply. Key government initiatives like soil health cards, crop insurance, sugarcane payments, mandi expansion, and improved storage and processing facilities have collectively increased the state’s agricultural growth rate from 8.6% to 17.7%.
The Kisan Pathshala, hosted at the farm of Padma Shri awardee Ramasharan Verma, allowed the Chief Minister and officials to directly observe crops, understand farmers’ challenges, and promote cost-effective methods to improve productivity. Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi described the initiative as a transformative step, marking the first time a Chief Minister engaged directly with farmers on their own land.
The event was attended by ministers, public representatives, and government officials and included a short film highlighting key agricultural initiatives of the Uttar Pradesh government.
