Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan felicitated Gurpreet Singh Kamon for completing an extraordinary milestone of 1,50,000 kilometers through cycling. Kamon, a prominent member of the Kotkapura Cycle Riders (Regd.) Club from the Malwa region, has become a source of pride for the entire community.
Gurpreet Singh Kamon has been actively involved in cycling for the past 5–6 years and holds the remarkable record of cycling 100 kilometers per day for 100 consecutive days, which has been documented in both the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records.
Speaker Sandhwan highlighted Kamon’s achievements in more than forty cycling competitions, bringing accolades to the Faridkot district. Kamon has also earned prestigious titles such as Super Randonneur, Star Independent Award, and the Bharatiya Ratna Award from the USIS Company.
On this occasion, Sandhwan encouraged the public to adopt regular physical activities like walking and cycling to maintain a healthy lifestyle. He added that Gurpreet Singh Kamon’s achievements are an inspiration for children and youth, demonstrating that determination and perseverance can help achieve even the most ambitious goals, regardless of age.
The Speaker extended his congratulations to Gurpreet Singh Kamon’s family and all members of the Kotkapura Cycle Riders team, wishing them continued success in the future. Manpreet Singh Dhaliwal, Rabab Singh, and Jashanpreet Kaur Dhaliwal were also present during the felicitation ceremony.
