Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma challenges Congress leaders Dotasra and Jooli over Aravalli mining, vows strict action against illegal mining and highlights Supreme Court directives.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has once again targeted the Congress party over the Aravalli mining issue, citing the Supreme Court’s verdict and pledging strict action against illegal mining activities.
Addressing the media, CM Sharma criticized former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and other Congress leaders for spreading misinformation and attempting to mislead the public. He emphasized that his government remains fully committed to protecting the Aravalli hills and will not allow any unauthorized interference.
Challenge to Gehlot, Refer to Historical Records
Sharma challenged Gehlot to review past Congress decisions regarding Aravalli mining during 2002-2003 and 2009-2010. Calling himself a devotee of Giriraj Ji, Sharma clarified that his administration is focused on environmental protection and that Congress’s concerns are politically motivated.

Supreme Court Verdict Highlights
The CM specifically called out Congress leaders Govind Singh Dotasra and Tikaram Jooli, inviting them to present any Supreme Court line permitting mining within 100 meters. He reiterated that the Supreme Court had suspended the old 100-meter rule and directed the central government to form a committee to prepare a comprehensive plan addressing environmental, mining, conservation, and social concerns.
Strict Measures Against Illegal Mining
Sharma further highlighted the BJP government’s commitment, alongside the central government, to Aravalli conservation. Comparing the current administration with pre-2013 Congress governments, he noted an increase in forest reserves and tiger reserves under the BJP. Complaints about illegal mining had surfaced during Congress rule but were largely ignored. In contrast, the current government has taken strict measures, including suspending 11 inspectors and implementing APOs.
Concluding his remarks, CM Sharma asserted that Congress now has no substantive ground to challenge the BJP, and their attempts to spread confusion are baseless.
