AAP leader Sagar Rabari highlights Gujarat’s poor rankings in water quality, malnutrition, farmers’ income, and education, urging the state government to address corruption and improve public welfare.
AAP Gujarat State Secretary Sagar Rabari has raised serious concerns over the state of governance in Gujarat, highlighting major issues in water quality, malnutrition, income, and education. Addressing the media in a press conference, Rabari referred to recent government data indicating that 57% of households in Gujarat still lack access to clean drinking water, placing the state 30th nationally in water quality and supply.
According to Sagar Rabari, Gujarat’s governance under BJP for the past 32 years has largely been marked by corruption. Despite several Vibrant Gujarat Summits, the state has not witnessed substantial foreign direct investment (FDI) growth and continues to lag behind other states in per capita income and farmers’ earnings. Current figures show Gujarat ranking 10th in per capita income, 12th in farmers’ income, and 18th in education quality nationwide.
Rabari emphasized that funds meant for essential projects like tap water, MGNREGA, check dams, toilets, and bridges have often been misappropriated. He criticized the BJP government for its extravagance at Vibrant Summits while ordinary citizens continue to face poor infrastructure and essential service shortages.

Highlighting recent corruption cases, Sagar Rabari stated that four district collectors were suspended in the past three years for bribery, with surreptitious transactions amounting to crores of rupees. “Without political patronage, no collector dares to commit such large-scale corruption. The BJP thrives on exploiting public funds,” he added.
Sagar Rabari also accused the state government of failing to ensure effective implementation of schemes. He noted that check dams failed to improve groundwater levels, funds under MNREGA were siphoned off, and public toilet initiatives were largely cosmetic. “With Gujarat ranking 30th in water quality, 31st in malnutrition, 10th in per capita income, and 18th in education, it is clear that the BJP government and Prime Minister should reconsider the lavish Vibrant Summits, which have not attracted a single rupee in new FDI,” Rabari said.
He concluded by urging the people of Gujarat to become aware of the real state of governance, highlighting that corruption, unemployment, and rising crime are threatening the welfare of the state. Rabari reaffirmed AAP’s commitment to taking these issues to the public and holding the government accountable.
