Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the new high-tech Maharana Pratap Roadways Bus Station in Khatima on Wednesday. The state-of-the-art bus stand, built at a cost of ₹11 crore near Lohiapul on Sitarganj Road, aims to strengthen public transportation in Udham Singh Nagar district and enhance commuter convenience.
Addressing the public during the inauguration, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “This project is a milestone in regional development. Passengers will now enjoy better facilities, and traffic congestion in the city will be significantly reduced.”
The CM Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized that the bus station was part of his long-term vision for the region. “When I was first elected as the legislator from this area, I envisioned a grand bus terminal in Khatima to ensure smooth travel for the people. Today, that dream has become a reality,” he added.
Honoring Maharana Pratap
The bus station is named after the legendary warrior Veer Shiramani Maharana Pratap to inspire future generations with his bravery and sacrifice. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted that the station will not only facilitate public transport but will also benefit surrounding areas by boosting regional connectivity.
He also mentioned ongoing developmental projects in Uttarakhand under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including the commencement of work on Jamrani Dam, the establishment of an AIIMS satellite center, and the upcoming international airport at Pantnagar. The CM assured that a grand martyrs’ memorial project would begin soon.
BJP’s 2027 Vision
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed confidence that the people of Uttarakhand would once again elect a BJP government in 2027, praising the positive impact of PM Modi’s governance. He criticized opposition attempts to spread misinformation and highlighted that citizens now enjoy security, better infrastructure, and development benefits across the state.
Temple Beautification and Community Projects
During his visit, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami announced the beautification of three temples in the Nanakmatta region, reinforcing the government’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage.
Prominent attendees at the inauguration included MP Ajay Bhatt, Transport Corporation Secretary Reena Joshi, Municipal Chairman Ramesh Joshi, former MLA Dr. Prem Singh Rana, BJP district president Kamal Jindal, and several other local leaders.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami concluded by reiterating his focus on regional development, infrastructure improvement, and public welfare as integral to building a prosperous and progressive Uttarakhand.
