Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini attended the closing ceremony of the Saraswati Mahotsav in Kurukshetra as the chief guest. On this auspicious occasion, CM Nayab Singh Saini inaugurated and laid the foundation for 26 major projects worth ₹63.86 crore aimed at the revival and rejuvenation of the sacred Saraswati River.
Significant Developments Along Saraswati River
Over the past decade, 18 new bridges have been constructed along the Saraswati River, improving connectivity and infrastructure in the region. CM Nayab Singh Saini highlighted that the Haryana government, in collaboration with 75 reputed institutions, is working diligently to restore the river to its former glory.

The government is also developing sites associated with the Saraswati River as “Saraswati Tirth”, promoting both religious and cultural tourism. Furthermore, an historic agreement with the Himachal Pradesh government has been signed to ensure the river maintains a sustainable and continuous flow.
Chief Minister’s Vision
CM Nayab Singh Saini emphasized, “Reviving the Saraswati River is not just about preserving the environment or our cultural heritage; it is a legacy for future generations. We aim to develop the riverbanks into centers of religion, tourism, and sustainable development.”
The initiatives are expected to enhance religious tourism, cultural awareness, and ecological restoration, making the Saraswati River a thriving spiritual and natural landmark once again.
