Medicity Nava Raipur milestone: ₹680-cr, 300-bed Bombay Hospital to boost healthcare, jobs, and make Nava Raipur Central India’s medical hub.
Medicity Project in Nava Raipur: In a landmark move for healthcare development in Central India, the Chhattisgarh government announced the successful completion of land lease and registration formalities for a flagship super-specialty hospital project in Nava Raipur. The agreement was signed between the Bombay Hospital and Medical Research Centre and the Nava Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) at Mahanadi Bhavan, marking a significant step toward establishing a dedicated Medicity in the region.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, present at the ceremony, highlighted the project as a major milestone in the state’s vision to make Nava Raipur a premier healthcare hub. The 15-acre project is set to house a ₹680-crore, 300-bed multi super-specialty hospital, making it Bombay Hospital Trust’s fourth advanced medical facility in India, after Mumbai, Indore, and Jaipur.
Officials noted that the project achieved an unusually fast turnaround: land identification, statutory approvals, and registration were completed within just four months of the September 2025 investment invitation. This speedy execution underscores Chhattisgarh’s investor-friendly policies and efficient administrative processes.
The new hospital will provide cutting-edge medical care across cardiac sciences, oncology, neurology, orthopaedics, critical care, and organ transplantation. By offering advanced treatment locally, patients from Chhattisgarh and neighboring states will no longer need to travel to metro cities like Mumbai or Delhi, making quality healthcare more accessible.
The project is also expected to create over 500 direct jobs, including doctors, nurses, surgeons, paramedical staff, and technicians. Additionally, indirect employment is projected to grow across allied services, boosting the local economy and supporting the youth with quality career opportunities.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated, “The establishment of Bombay Hospital in Nava Raipur is a decisive step toward realizing our Medicity vision. This initiative ensures world-class healthcare access while simultaneously generating high-quality employment for our youth. The Trust’s investment reflects strong confidence in Chhattisgarh’s policy stability, rapid decision-making, and investor-friendly environment.”
The initiative is being implemented under the Chhattisgarh Industrial Development Policy 2024–30, which promotes strategic sectors like healthcare and ensures time-bound project execution. Officials believe the Medicity project will significantly strengthen Nava Raipur’s position as a central healthcare destination in India.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior state officials including Shri Subodh Singh, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister; Shri Rajat Kumar, Secretary, Industries Department; Shri Ankit Anand, Secretary, Housing and Environment Department; Shri Chandan Kumar, CEO of NRDA; and senior representatives from Bombay Hospital Trust, including Shri Bharat Tapadia, Trustee and Chairman, and Shri Shyam Ji, Secretary.
With this development, Nava Raipur is set to emerge as a model city for healthcare infrastructure, bridging the gap between advanced medical treatment and regional accessibility while fostering economic growth.
