Tragic accident in Baramati claims Ajit Pawar’s life along with four others; political leaders across India express condolences
Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar tragically lost his life today in a private plane crash at Baramati airport. The accident also claimed the lives of four other passengers. The incident has sent shockwaves through the political community in Maharashtra and across India.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed deep sorrow over Ajit Pawar’s untimely demise, stating, “The plane crash in Baramati that claimed the life of Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Ajit and other passengers is deeply tragic and heart-wrenching. My condolences to the bereaved families. May Lord Ram grant the departed souls eternal peace and provide strength to the grieving families.”
BSP supremo Mayawati also mourned the death of Ajit Pawar, releasing a statement that read, “The passing of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in the Baramati plane crash is extremely saddening. My deepest sympathies are with his family and party colleagues. May they find the strength to bear this immense loss.”

Similarly, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav extended his condolences, describing the incident as a major loss for Maharashtra politics.
The crash site saw a large gathering of onlookers, and the plane was completely destroyed upon impact. Rescue and relief operations are currently underway.
Ajit was a veteran politician of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and a prominent figure in Maharashtra’s political landscape. His sudden demise leaves a significant void in both the state’s governance and political arena.
