UP Budget 2026: The Uttar Pradesh government is doubling down on its mission to transform the state into an industrial powerhouse. In the latest budget, the administration has bridged the gap between Ease of Living and Ease of Doing Business (EoDB), allocating massive funds to infrastructure and streamlining bureaucratic hurdles.
Massive Financial Push for Infrastructure
To cement UP’s status as a preferred investment destination, the government has earmarked significant capital:
-
INR 34,219 Crore: Infrastructure, housing, and urban development.
-
INR 27,103 Crore: Dedicated purely to industrial development.
-
INR 1,000+ Crore: Specifically, for “Last Mile” connectivity to industrial hubs.
The goal is simple: make reaching industrial zones safer, faster, and more cost-effective for logistics providers and business owners alike.
Digital Transformation: 525 Services, One Platform
In a move to eliminate “red tape,” the Invest UP initiative has successfully integrated 525 services from 45 different departments into a single online portal. This transparency ensures that permits and approvals are no longer bottlenecked by manual processing.
Regulatory Relief at a Glance
The government has conducted a massive “cleanup” of outdated regulations:
-
577 compliances completely eliminated.
-
4,098 compliances digitized and simplified.
-
Simplified Registration: Shops with up to 20 employees now face significantly fewer hurdles.
-
Streamlined Licensing: Faster approvals for labor, fire safety, and environmental clearances.
Connectivity: The Backbone of “New Uttar Pradesh”
With a proposed ₹34,468 crore for roads and bridges, the state is building a logistics network that rivals international standards.
Road & Air Network Expansion:
-
Expressways: Three are currently operational, three are under construction, and 12 new expressways are in the pipeline.
-
Airports: UP currently boasts 5 international and 16 domestic airports.
-
The Jewar Impact: The upcoming Noida International Airport (Jewar) is expected to be a gamechanger, providing direct global market access for UP-based exporters.
The “Brahmastra” Budget: A Message of Strength
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath concluded the budget discussion with a powerful symbolic gesture. The budget cover featured the Brahmastra, signaling that the state’s INR 9.12 lakh crore budget is a weapon against economic stagnation and lawlessness.
“Uttar Pradesh is no longer just a state of potential; it is a model of development and security.” — CM Yogi Adityanath
A key highlight of this “New UP” identity is the BrahMos missile manufacturing unit in Lucknow, which positions the state as a critical player in India’s national defense sector.
