Arvind Kejriwal slams BJP over ED raids in Punjab, calls it political harassment and misuse of central agencies against opposition.
Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has strongly criticized the central government following a series of Enforcement Directorate (ED) actions in Punjab, alleging political misuse of investigative agencies to target opposition leaders.
The controversy began after ED conducted a raid at the Chandigarh residence of Punjab minister Sanjeev Arora, leading to his detention. The action triggered strong political reactions from the AAP leadership.
Addressing the media, Arvind Kejriwal alleged that Punjab is being deliberately targeted and that central agencies are being used as tools of political pressure. He claimed that opposition leaders are being intimidated and forced into political realignments through investigative actions.
He further accused the ruling party of following a strategy of “intimidate, influence, and divide,” alleging that enforcement agencies are being misused to weaken opposition parties instead of focusing on genuine corruption cases.

Arvind Kejriwal also referred to the timing of the raids, suggesting that such actions intensify after elections in different states. He claimed that this pattern raises concerns about fairness and democratic processes in the country.
In a social media post, the AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal stated that Punjab has faced repeated administrative and financial challenges in recent years, including disputes over resources and development funds. He alleged that such issues reflect a broader pattern of pressure on the state. The AAP chief further said that Punjab has a long history of resilience and resistance against injustice. He asserted that the state will continue to stand firm against any form of political pressure.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also criticized the ED action, stating that Punjab cannot be intimidated and will not bow to political pressure. His remarks added further intensity to the ongoing political debate between the state and central leadership.
The situation has sparked a wider political confrontation, with opposition parties alleging misuse of central agencies, while the government maintains that all actions are part of lawful investigations.
