Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann launches ‘Meri Rasoi Yojana’ in Sangrur, aiming to provide ration kits to 4 million families and expand welfare schemes.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has launched the ambitious ‘Meri Rasoi Yojana’ in Sangrur, marking a major expansion of the state’s welfare agenda. Under this scheme, nearly 4 million families will receive ration kits four times a year, aiming to strengthen food security and reduce malnutrition among children.
The announcement was made during a public event in Sangrur, where the Chief Minister also highlighted several ongoing welfare programs and reiterated his vision of a “Vibrant Punjab.”
Major Relief for Poor Families Under Meri Rasoi Yojana
The newly launched Meri Rasoi Yojana is designed to provide essential food supplies to economically weaker sections of society. CM Bhagwant Mann stated that the initiative will directly benefit millions of families and improve nutritional standards across the state.
The government believes this scheme will play a key role in reducing hunger and ensuring that no family is left behind in Punjab’s development journey.

Expansion of Welfare Schemes in Punjab
Alongside Meri Rasoi Yojana, the Punjab government is actively implementing several welfare initiatives, including:
- Free electricity scheme
- Chief Minister Health Scheme
- Maa-Beti Samman Yojana
According to the state government, these schemes are aimed at improving living standards and providing direct financial and social relief to marginalized communities.
Special Focus on Farmers’ Welfare
CM Bhagwant Mann also emphasized his government’s commitment to farmers’ welfare. He highlighted that farmers are now receiving:
Uninterrupted daytime electricity supply
Reliable irrigation water through canals

Towards a ‘Pole-Free Punjab’
From Satjau village, the Chief Minister announced the launch of the “Pole-Free Punjab” initiative. Under this project, overhead electricity wires will be shifted underground to create a safer and more modern power distribution system across the state.
Strict Stand on Sacrilege Law
The Chief Minister also reiterated his government’s strong stance on the issue of sacrilege. He said that previous governments politicized the matter, while the current administration has implemented strict legal provisions, including life imprisonment and heavy penalties, to protect religious sentiments.

CM Bhagwant Mann concluded by stating that the ultimate goal of his government is to build a “Vibrant Punjab”, focused on development, social welfare, and inclusive growth. He assured that this journey of progress will continue without interruption.
