Opposition’s History of “Anti-Woman” Conduct: Yogi Adityanath
Addressing the house, Yogi Adityanath highlighted the contrast between the government’s welfare initiatives and the opposition’s past behavior. He recalled the infamous ‘State Guest House incident,’ noting that it was the BJP that stepped forward to protect the dignity of a “Dalit daughter” when SP leaders had compromised it.

The Chief Minister remarked:
“The downfall of Congress is due to the curses of women for their decades of neglect and hypocrisy. Today, we see the Samajwadi Party heading in the same direction. Their conduct during the State Guest House incident remains a dark chapter in UP’s history.”
From Mockery to Demanding Reservation: The Political Shift
Yogi Adityanath pointed out that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Jan Dhan Yojana to empower women, opposition leaders mocked the initiative. He further noted that the 12 crore toilets built across the country—symbols of women’s dignity—were also ridiculed by the Samajwadi Party.
“The behavior of SP leaders is such that even a chameleon would feel ashamed,” Yogi Adityanath quipped, referring to their sudden demand for a 33% reservation after years of opposing women-centric reforms. He emphasized that under the BJP government, 10 crore women received gas cylinders under the Ujjwala scheme, providing them with a smoke-free life.
Economic Impact of Women Empowerment
The Chief Minister credited the “Double Engine” government’s focus on law and order for the increased participation of women in the workforce. Yogi Adityanath stated that this shift has played a crucial role in the state’s economy growing threefold.
