Paresh Rawal confirms Hera Pheri 3 delay is due to a technical issue between Akshay Kumar and makers. Shooting to begin in February-March with iconic trio reunited.
Fans of the legendary comedy franchise Hera Pheri will have to wait a little longer for its third installment. Actor Paresh Rawal has confirmed that the delay in Hera Pheri 3 is due to a technical issue between producer Akshay Kumar and the film’s makers, and not related to him.
In a recent conversation Paresh Rawal addressed the controversies surrounding the project. “All this news about Akshay Kumar suing me for ₹25 crore is just like kachva chaap agarbatti — too much smoke without reason,” he humorously remarked. Speaking in Gujarati, he added, “This is a technical issue between the producer and an actor (Akshay). Nothing to do with me. Once they resolve it, I’ll just have to sign the papers.”

Hera Pheri 3: What Fans Can Expect
The film will see the return of the iconic trio — Baburao Ganpatrao Apte (Paresh Rawal), Raju (Akshay Kumar), and Shyam (Suniel Shetty) — and is directed by Priyadarshan, who helmed the original Hera Pheri in 2000. The first sequel, Phir Hera Pheri, released in 2006 under Neeraj Vora’s direction.
Paresh Rawal had earlier announced his exit from the project in May of last year, which shocked both fans and Akshay Kumar, who owns the rights to the franchise. Shortly after, Akshay filed a lawsuit concerning the film. However, Paresh has now confirmed his return, and shooting for Hera Pheri 3 is expected to begin in February or March.
Director Priyadarshan has previously stated that the new installment must do justice to the original, promising that he will ensure the comedy lives up to fans’ expectations.
