CM Pushkar Singh Dhami visits Tanakpur, inaugurates Sharda Corridor projects worth ₹107 crore, participates in Magh Khichdi event, and announces tourism and religious development plans in Uttarakhand.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Tanakpur today to participate in the Sharda Corridor foundation ceremony and the Magh Khichdi program. The CM also inaugurated projects worth ₹954.46 lakh and ₹30,975.89 lakh under various development schemes in the region.
During the event at Sharda Ghat, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami announced the first phase of works worth ₹107 crore, which includes the construction of a 500-meter-long ghat, flood protection walls, gates, pedestrian pathways, changing rooms, passenger rest sheds, lighting systems, Karm Hari Pathshala, and a spiritual zone. These initiatives aim to enhance religious tourism and infrastructure in the area.

CM Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the 200 sq km area around Sharda Ghat will be developed as a major religious and tourism hub. He assured the residents of Champawat that the promises made to them would be fulfilled soon. Highlighting education reforms, the CM announced the abolition of the Madarsa Board, and said that religious teachings would now resonate in minority schools as well.
Addressing political issues, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami criticized opposition leader Rahul Gandhi while referring to the Kotdwar incident. He emphasized governance and development achievements and hinted at the upcoming 2027 Uttarakhand Assembly elections, urging public support and active participation in the state’s progress.
The visit also reinforced CM Pushkar Singh Dhami ’s focus on tourism, religious infrastructure, and community development, showcasing the government’s commitment to holistic regional growth in Tanakpur and surrounding areas.
