PM Modi to visit Varanasi in March for public assembly and project inaugurations. Key infrastructure projects, including ROBs, STPs, and city development, to be launched.
Varanasi, India – Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Varanasi in the second week of March, marking his 54th visit to the city. The visit comes shortly after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to arrive on February 28, ahead of Holi. Both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister are set to review the Kajjapura ROB and other key infrastructure projects.
Planned Public Assembly
Sources from the administration and BJP confirm that PM Modi may hold a public meeting at the grounds of Bareka or Sampurnanand Sanskrit University. The visit will also include honoring eight women on the occasion of International Women’s Day, reflecting the government’s emphasis on social recognition and empowerment.

Infrastructure Projects to be Launched
During the visit, several development projects in Varanasi will be inaugurated:
Kajjapura and Kadipur ROBs
Widening of Pandeypur Kali Mandir–Azamgarh Link Road
CCU at Banaras Hindu University (BHU)
55 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant at Bhagwanpur
Old Age Home at Ramnagar
Development works at Chandrawati area
Astro-turf installation at UP College
Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the following:
City Municipal Corporation building worth ₹97 crore
60 MLD STP at Lohata worth ₹274.31 crore
Sewerage and drinking water projects across 18 wards worth ₹259 crore
Rajghat Bridge and railway line project worth ₹1,800 crore
Preparations for the Visit
Accommodation for the dignitaries has been arranged with PM Modi staying at Bareka Guest House and CM Yogi Adityanath at the Circuit House. Officials emphasize that whenever the Prime Minister visits Varanasi, he announces significant development projects, having previously sanctioned projects worth over ₹65,000 crore.
