AAP leaders in Gujarat face police harassment; Chaitar Vasava urges fair elections and warns against misuse of police for political gains.
AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava has alleged that under the direction of Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, senior IPS officers at the DGP, IG, and SP levels are harassing AAP leaders, workers, and upcoming candidates for local elections in Gujarat. Vasava described the situation as “emergency-like,” claiming that workers are being stopped on roads, pressured at their homes, falsely booked under FIRs, and sent to jail.
Chaitar Vasava stated that AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to the Gujarat Chief Minister, urging that elections be conducted fairly and transparently. The letter emphasized that every political party has the constitutional right to contest elections and reach out to the public, and the CM should instruct police to ensure impartiality while keeping the Election Commission informed.

Highlighting the misuse of police power, Vasava said, “The Deputy CM is using the police machinery out of fear of losing, which is extremely concerning.” He appealed to the people of Gujarat to unite to protect the Constitution and safeguard democracy against such harassment.

AAP leaders and workers, Vasava added, are striving to be the voice of the people and to play a role as a strong opposition in upcoming local elections. He warned that the ruling BJP is resorting to irregularities to secure electoral victories, a move that poses a threat to democratic values.
Chaitar Vasava concluded by stating that AAP emerged from a movement and will not be intimidated by false FIRs, police pressure, or harassment. “When the public wakes up, every responsible person will be held accountable. This is not just AAP’s issue—it concerns all six crore citizens of Gujarat,” he said, urging everyone to remain vigilant and join the fight for justice.
Through these statements, Chaitar Vasava brought attention to the growing concerns over AAP Gujarat police harassment, urging both leaders and citizens to ensure fair elections and democratic integrity in the state.
