CM Yogi announces UP Police recruitment 2026 with over 81,000 posts, emphasizing transparency, technology-driven processes, and public safety reforms.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a historic UP Police recruitment 2026 drive, with over 81,000 posts set to be filled across various police departments in the state. The initiative is expected to generate significant employment opportunities for young aspirants while modernizing the police force.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the financial year 2026–27 would be a defining period for candidates aspiring to join the Uttar Pradesh Police. The recruitment drive will include positions such as Sub-Inspectors, Civil Police Constables, Radio Assistant Operators, Computer Operators (Grade-A), and Police Sub-Inspectors (Confidential).
Transparent and Technology-Driven Recruitment
During the announcement, CM Yogi emphasized that UP Police recruitment 2026 will strictly adhere to merit and reservation norms. The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has been directed to ensure that all selections are completed in a time-bound and transparent manner. Technology-driven processes will enhance efficiency and build trust among applicants.
Officials also confirmed that some recruitment processes have already commenced, and the entire initiative aims to strengthen the police system by bringing in capable and dynamic human resources.
Modernization and Improved Response Systems
As part of the UP Police recruitment 2026 reforms, the Chief Minister stressed faster response times and smarter patrolling. Strategic placements of Police Response Vehicles (PRVs) and data-driven patrolling will be implemented across districts. Patrol routes will be updated every 15 days under a hotspot-based monitoring system, ensuring both two-wheelers and four-wheelers are available for rapid response.
Fire Safety and Administrative Reforms
CM Yogi also reviewed Fire and Emergency Services, noting that approximately 42,000 fire incidents and over 10,000 emergencies were successfully managed in 2025–26, saving property worth nearly Rs 800 crore. He ordered every district to have at least one hydraulic fire tender and urged swift implementation of the “One Tehsil, One Fire Tender” initiative.
Additionally, personnel posted in key locations in Lucknow, such as Raj Bhavan, the Chief Minister’s residence, and Police Headquarters, will be rotated to improve transparency and bring fresh energy into the system.

Cybersecurity and Digital Infrastructure
The Chief Minister stressed that digital initiatives are vital for modern policing. The Cyber Crime Headquarters reported securing Rs 425.7 crore through technical interventions last year and took action in over 314,000 device-related cases. An e-office system has been introduced in the Police Radio Wing, with instructions to strengthen digital infrastructure across all 75 districts.
Awareness campaigns to prevent cyber fraud will also be expanded, aligning with the goals of UP Police recruitment 2026 to create a technologically capable police force.
Community Safety and Rail Security
CM Yogi highlighted the establishment of Civil Defence units in all districts, recruiting around 7,500 volunteers, and stressed public participation to enhance community safety. The Government Railway Police reported successful operations under ‘Operation Muskan,’ reuniting 2,325 children with their families. Passenger safety and technological surveillance are to be further strengthened under this initiative.
