India’s young shooting star Esha Singh 25m pistol world record performance stunned the global sporting community as she clinched the gold medal at the ISSF World Cup in Munich. The 21-year-old showcased remarkable composure under pressure and registered a world record score of 43 hits out of 50 in the women’s 25m pistol final.

Her outstanding display not only secured the gold medal but also ensured her direct qualification for the ISSF World Cup Final, scheduled to be held in Rome later this year.

Record-breaking final performance

The Esha Singh 25m pistol world record achievement came in a high-pressure final featuring top shooters including Olympic champion Yang Ji-in and former world champion Doreen Vennekamp.

Esha began strongly with three consecutive perfect series and maintained her rhythm throughout the elimination stages. Her precision and mental strength helped her outperform experienced competitors and set a new benchmark in the event.

This record score of 43 hits is now recognized as a new world record at both senior and junior levels.

Strong competition from global shooters

Germany’s Doreen Vennekamp secured the silver medal with 38 hits, while Bulgaria’s Miroslava Mincheva claimed bronze with 31 hits. Despite topping the qualification round with 592-28x, Yang Ji-in finished fifth in the final.

Even in such a competitive field, the Esha Singh 25m pistol world record performance stood out as the highlight of the event.

Qualification round and comeback performance

Esha had entered the final in fifth position after scoring 587-19x in qualification rounds, including strong precision and rapid-fire series. However, her performance improved significantly in the final, where she dominated the field with consistency and control.

The world record score was a result of her improved focus and ability to handle pressure in critical moments.

Mixed results for Indian shooters

While Esha brought glory to India, other shooters had mixed results. Manu Bhaker narrowly missed the final after finishing 12th, while Rahi Sarnobat ended at 14th position.

Earlier in the season, Indian shooters Mukesh Nelavalli and Palak Gulia had won gold in the 10m air pistol mixed team event, adding to India’s growing presence in international shooting.
