Arvind Kejriwal questions PM Modi’s handling of the Ram Mandir donation case as the SIT probe into alleged financial irregularities continues.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the ongoing controversy surrounding the alleged misappropriation of donations collected at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. Kejriwal accused the Prime Minister of failing to act on alleged warnings and questioned whether influential individuals linked to the matter would face accountability.
Addressing the media, the AAP leader claimed that several developments related to the case raised serious concerns about transparency and oversight. He alleged that questions surrounding land transactions and the handling of Ram Mandir Donation funds deserved a thorough and impartial investigation.
Allegations Over Land Transactions
Kejriwal referred to previous allegations concerning land purchases linked to the Ram Temple Trust, claiming that certain properties were acquired at prices significantly higher than their earlier transaction values. According to him, these transactions have sparked public debate and prompted demands for greater scrutiny.
The former Delhi Chief Minister argued that documents related to these transactions have been publicly available and questioned whether authorities were adequately informed about the developments.
Questions Raised Over Investigation
The AAP chief also raised concerns regarding reports of deleted CCTV footage and alleged irregularities connected to the Ram Mandir Donation management system. He claimed that despite repeated concerns being raised, decisive action was not taken at the initial stages.
Drawing a comparison with the character Dhritarashtra from the Mahabharata, Kejriwal alleged that the Prime Minister remained inactive despite purported warnings. He further claimed that the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was intended to address growing public criticism rather than proactively resolve the issue.
SIT Probe Continues
The controversy stems from an FIR registered on June 25 regarding the alleged embezzlement of donations received at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. Authorities have launched a detailed investigation, and the SIT examining the case has been granted an additional 15 days to expand the scope of its inquiry and review all relevant aspects.

Officials said the case has been registered under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Several individuals have been named in the FIR, and investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of any financial irregularities.
Trust Maintains Commitment to Transparency
The Ram Temple Trust has maintained that it supports a fair and transparent investigation and remains committed to safeguarding the faith of millions of devotees. Trust representatives have stated that they will cooperate fully with investigating agencies.
Meanwhile, former Trust General Secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra stepped down from their positions, citing moral responsibility amid the controversy. Investigators have already recorded statements from key individuals connected to the trust and may question additional office-bearers if required.
Political Debate Intensifies
The issue has triggered a fresh political confrontation between the AAP and the BJP, with opposition leaders demanding accountability and clarity regarding the allegations. The BJP has not accepted the allegations made by Kejriwal and has maintained that the investigation should be allowed to proceed without political interference.
As the SIT continues its probe, attention remains focused on the findings of the investigation, which are expected to play a crucial role in determining the next course of action in the high-profile case.
