CJP alleges outsiders tried to disrupt the Jantar Mantar student protest and reiterates its demand for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.

CJP chief Abhijeet Dipke: The ongoing student protest at Jantar Mantar took a fresh political turn on Thursday after Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders alleged that outsiders were being brought in to disturb the demonstration. CJP representatives also reiterated their demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, calling it a key condition for ending the agitation.

CJP Alleges Attempt to Disrupt Peaceful Protest

Addressing the media, CJP chief Abhijeet Dipke claimed that the month-long protest had remained peaceful until recently and alleged that individuals from outside were now attempting to create disturbances.

According to Dipke, the protest had completed nearly a month without major incidents, but as public support increased, efforts were allegedly made to disrupt the gathering. He further accused BJP workers of creating unrest and alleged that the incidents were intended to tarnish the image of the protesters. These allegations have not been independently verified.

Police Action Under Criticism

Abhijeet Dipke also criticised the police action during the protest, describing the lathi-charge as excessive. He said the organisation plans to pursue legal action against the officials involved.

The CJP leader stated that the protest had entered its 34th day, while activist Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike had continued for 26 days. Despite expressing concern over Wangchuk’s health, Abhijeet Dipke said the organisation was requesting him to end his fast, adding that his well-being was important.

Appeal for Peaceful Demonstration

Another CJP representative, Saurav Das, said the protest would continue peacefully and urged supporters to maintain discipline throughout the movement.

Das said discussions with Sonam Wangchuk focused on ensuring that the demonstration remained non-violent. He also alleged that peaceful protests in the country are sometimes affected by anti-social elements, urging participants not to allow the movement to lose its purpose.

Demand for Dharmendra Pradhan’s Resignation Reiterated

Saurav Das described the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as a “non-negotiable” demand.

He said the protest would continue until the demand was addressed, maintaining that the movement would not be withdrawn without a satisfactory response from the government.

Protests Continue Over Paper Leak Issue

The protest at Jantar Mantar has been driven by concerns over alleged examination paper leaks and demands for greater accountability in the education system. Protesters have been seeking stronger safeguards against paper leaks along with action against those responsible.

The Centre has recently announced the establishment of fast-track courts for speedy trials in paper leak cases, stating that the move is aimed at protecting students’ interests. However, protest organisers continue to press for additional measures, including ministerial accountability.

As the agitation continues, attention remains focused on whether discussions between the protesters and the government will lead to a resolution in the coming days.
