Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to the personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on the occasion of the force’s Raising Day, praising their courage, dedication and unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation.
In a message shared on social media, the Prime Minister acknowledged the significant contribution of CRPF personnel in maintaining internal security, protecting citizens during difficult situations and supporting peace across the country.

A Legacy of Service Since 1939
The Central Reserve Police Force traces its origins to July 27, 1939, when it was established as the Crown Representative’s Police during the British era. Following the enactment of the CRPF Act, 1949, the force was officially renamed the Central Reserve Police Force on December 28, 1949.
Today, the CRPF is India’s largest central armed police force and performs a wide range of responsibilities, including counter-insurgency operations, election security, disaster response, VIP protection and maintenance of internal law and order.
