UP CM Yogi Adityanath urged debate on welfare issues during the Monsoon Session and responded to the Samajwadi Party over the Ram Mandir donation controversy.
Yogi Adityanath on Monday called upon legislators to use the Uttar Pradesh Assembly’s Monsoon Session as a platform to discuss issues affecting farmers, youth, women, and economically weaker sections instead of engaging in political confrontation.
Addressing the media on the opening day of the session, the Chief Minister said the Legislative Assembly plays a vital role in bringing public concerns before the government and ensuring that policy decisions are aligned with the needs of citizens. He welcomed all MLAs and stressed that meaningful discussions should focus on development and public welfare.
Yogi Highlights Welfare Agenda
CM Yogi Adityanath said every legislator should raise issues related to their respective constituencies so that the government can work toward practical solutions. According to him, the BJP-led government has consistently used legislative discussions to improve governance and implement development-oriented policies.
He also highlighted the state’s progress over the past nine years, claiming that Uttar Pradesh has undergone significant economic transformation and strengthened its development trajectory through policy reforms and better governance.
Focus on Farmers, Youth and Women
The Chief Minister urged members of the House to prioritize discussions on welfare initiatives for farmers, employment opportunities for youth, women’s safety, and schemes benefiting economically weaker families.
He noted that the ongoing month of Shravan is particularly important for farmers, students seeking admissions, and devotees participating in the Kanwar Yatra, extending his greetings to all of them.

CM Counters Samajwadi Party’s Allegations
Reacting to protests by Samajwadi Party legislators over the alleged Ram Mandir donation embezzlement issue, Yogi Adityanath criticized the opposition, alleging that the party had opposed the Ram Temple movement in the past.
He also accused the previous Samajwadi Party government of failing to safeguard farmers’ interests, citing delayed sugarcane payments and inadequate irrigation support during its tenure. In contrast, he credited the Central Government’s agricultural schemes, including crop insurance and irrigation initiatives, for improving the condition of farmers.
Supplementary Budget Expected During Session
The Monsoon Session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly will continue until August 6. During the session, the state government is expected to present a supplementary budget to provide additional financial allocations for welfare programmes and other expenditure requirements that have arisen after the annual budget.
Apart from the Ram Mandir donation controversy, opposition parties are also expected to raise issues related to the NEET-UG paper leak, electricity supply, and fertilizer shortages during the proceedings.
