CM Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed the Jal Jeevan Mission and directed officials to achieve the 100% Har Ghar Jal target across Uttarakhand.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission at the Secretariat, taking stock of the scheme’s financial status, implementation, maintenance of projects and the roadmap for upcoming works.
During the review, CM Dhami directed officials to ensure that all remaining eligible rural households are provided with tap water connections within the निर्धारित timeline. He stressed that the state must achieve the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ target in full.
No Delay in Pending Drinking Water Projects
Chief Minister Dhami instructed officials to accelerate all ongoing and pending drinking water projects. He made it clear that any negligence or unnecessary delay in project implementation would not be accepted.
Officials were asked to complete projects in mission mode and within the निर्धारित deadlines, while maintaining quality standards and ensuring that the completed schemes remain useful and functional for people.

Focus on Water Sources in Hilly Areas
The Chief Minister gave special emphasis to drinking water security in Uttarakhand’s mountainous regions. He directed departments to prioritise the protection and rejuvenation of water sources, along with rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge measures.
According to the directions, long-term water availability should remain an important component of planning, particularly in areas where communities depend heavily on natural water sources.
District-Level Mechanism for Technical Issues
CM Dhami also instructed officials to establish an effective mechanism in every district for the quick and permanent resolution of technical problems related to water supply.
He stressed the need for regular monitoring of projects and timely intervention whenever problems arise at the ground level.
The Chief Minister said the objective of the Jal Jeevan Mission should go beyond providing tap connections. The focus must also remain on ensuring reliable, quality and sustainable drinking water services for rural households.
With the review, the Uttarakhand government has reiterated its emphasis on completing pending water projects, strengthening infrastructure and protecting water sources to improve drinking water availability across the state.
