A 16-year-old Class 11 student was allegedly raped inside a moving sleeper bus in Delhi-NCR. Police arrested the driver and conductor.
Delhi-NCR Bus Gang Rape Case: A serious case of alleged sexual assault involving a 16-year-old Class 11 student has been reported in the Delhi-NCR region. According to police, the teenager was allegedly raped by the driver and conductor of a sleeper bus after they offered her a lift during heavy rain.
The incident reportedly occurred on the night of August 4, during a nearly 47-kilometre journey from Pari Chowk in Greater Noida to Kashmere Gate in Old Delhi. Police have arrested the two accused and seized the bus for forensic examination.
The Delhi-NCR Bus Gang Rape Case is currently under investigation, with police examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and collecting evidence from the vehicle.
Student Was Trying to Reach Noida
According to police sources, the girl is from Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri district and studies in Class 11. She had reportedly left her home without informing her family and was travelling to meet her cousin in Noida.
Heavy rain and poor visibility reportedly caused her to reach Pari Chowk in Greater Noida. During this time, an empty sleeper bus was passing through the area.
Police said the girl signalled the bus to stop. The driver and conductor allegedly told her that they were travelling towards Noida Sector 63 and offered to drop her there.
Alleged Assault During Bus Journey
According to the girl’s statement to police, shortly after the bus began moving, the conductor allegedly behaved inappropriately with her. She has alleged that both the driver and conductor subsequently sexually assaulted her.
The girl also told police that she was threatened when she resisted. Later that night, the accused allegedly left her on Ring Road near the Kashmere Gate ISBT before fleeing.
The teenager subsequently approached Kashmere Gate police and reported the incident. Following her complaint, police initiated an investigation into the Delhi-NCR Bus Gang Rape Case.
Driver and Conductor Arrested
Police have arrested the two men identified as driver Kuldeep and conductor Sandeep. According to police, Sandeep is 29 years old and does not have a previous criminal record.
The accused were reportedly apprehended from a bus parking area in Timarpur, North Delhi. The sleeper bus has also been taken into police custody and sent for forensic examination.
Investigators are examining the vehicle and other available evidence to establish the sequence of events.
Bus Had Been Taken for Repairs
Police sources said the bus had earlier developed a mechanical problem and was taken to a workshop in the Surajpur area of Greater Noida.
After the repair work was completed, Kuldeep and Sandeep were reportedly driving the empty bus towards Timarpur. It was during this journey that they allegedly encountered the student at Pari Chowk.
The bus subsequently travelled approximately 47 kilometres before reaching the Kashmere Gate area.

Curtains Inside Sleeper Bus Under Investigation
According to police, the sleeper bus had curtains that restricted visibility from outside. Investigators are examining the interior of the vehicle as part of the probe.
The forensic examination of the bus is expected to help investigators identify and preserve evidence relevant to the case.
The Delhi-NCR Bus Gang Rape Case remains under investigation, and further details are expected to emerge as police examine forensic findings and other evidence.
Congress Targets Delhi and Uttar Pradesh Governments
The incident has also triggered a political response. The Congress criticised the BJP governments in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh over women’s safety and law-and-order arrangements.
In a social media post, the party questioned the absence of adequate patrolling and checking during the journey. Congress alleged that the incident exposed shortcomings in the governments’ claims regarding women’s safety.
The political allegations are separate from the ongoing criminal investigation. The Delhi-NCR Bus Gang Rape Case will ultimately be decided through the legal process based on evidence presented before the court.
Investigation Continues
Police are continuing to question the accused and examine the seized sleeper bus. Forensic findings and other evidence will be important in determining the circumstances of the alleged crime.
